I’ve had a massive urge to clean this week, I just want to declutter and clean EVERYTHING!
Have you ever just had a massive urge to clean and found yourself buying a bunch of cleaning products to ”test” out which one is better to clean certain parts of your kitchen? Because same. I swear I’ve been ”nesting” since the start here.
Let’s talk pregnancy though. All symptoms seem to have really calmed down. All the tiredness and sickness I had at the start seems to have really calmed down now. I still feel nauseous with certain smells but at least I’m not gagging every 35 seconds.
I love reading other people’s pregnancy updates and I’ve noticed a lot of people at 14 weeks already know what gender their baby is going to be. I can only guess this is through a blood test? We aren’t doing that so still have no idea if we are having a boy or a girl. We do plan to have a private early gender scan though because we’re too impatient to know and we are doing a gender reveal at our wedding so we gotta know before. Our private scan clinic isn’t where we live so we are hoping they’ll have a day that is good for us after we reach the 16 week mark.
So far, the second trimester has been a walk in the park. It feels so nice to be able to enjoy a pregnancy properly. I was in a lot of pain due to illness when I was pregnant with our son so it meant I was stuck to the bed daily and very rarely able to go out because the pain wouldn’t allow me to. It feels so nice to be able to do things, go to places, have energy and enjoy pregnancy.
Due to the amount of pain I had while I was carrying our first child, I never really knew what Braxton Hicks were. The doctors often told me the pains I had were Braxton Hicks when really they were clearly being caused by the illness as they carried on after giving birth, up until I had my surgery. So I have no idea what Braxton Hicks feel like. It’s going to be interesting feeling them properly for the first time and having no other pains to confuse them with. I’m also looking forward to photo documenting my bump progress. It’s another thing I haven’t been able to do before because I felt so unwell. So it’s something I’m really looking forward to. It’s one of the reasons I am doing these updates and posting so much pregnancy related things on my social media, I’m just so excited (obviously because I’m growing a baby in my belly… what…but also) because I’m not in pain.
Little highlight this week, I felt baby again! Still just feeling flutters and only once or twice this week but every time I feel them, the flutters are stronger. It’s so reassuring. We are thinking about getting a doppler so we can listen to baby’s heartbeat. So far we have only seen baby’s heartbeat and having listened to it so we are looking forward to getting one once all things for the wedding are sorted.
