What’s In My Hospital Bag

Ever since going into threatened preterm labour at 24 weeks, one of my main baby-orientated priorities has been getting my hospital bag ready in case next time it’s for real. Luckily, I’m now 30 weeks and baby is definitely still swimming away happily in my tummy but it’s given me so much peace of mind knowing it’s packed and ready to go when we need it.

As you can see, I opted to go for something a little ”bigger” than the traditional hospital bag. I am indeed, taking a suitcase. We have been given an indication of the minimum stay we will have in hospital, it could be longer but even the minimum is slightly longer than the usual 6 hours in hospital people tend to have given everything goes well. When I gave birth to my first son, we had to stay for a little longer than expected so even though the bag I took was full, it was quite small and wasn’t enough for our stay so my husband had to come home twice to get more things for us and by the end of our stay, we were having to carry 3 bags full and a baby in a car seat. It’s something I really wanted to avoid this time. I would rather have everything in one place.

Like I mentioned earlier, we know we are having a little bit of a longer stay so we are packing plenty with that already in mind, so if the number of things we have packed sounds like a lot, that’s why. You might not need so much but I hope this post helps regardless because I too, had no idea where to start when it came to packing.
