Glossybox Unboxing | May 2019

It has been such a long time since I wrote a blog post like this. I unsubscribed from Glossybox a while ago because I just wasn’t getting enough products in each box that interested me that would justify staying subscribed. There were a lot of products I received duplicates for which I had already said I wouldn’t want to receive again. However, I remained a followed of Glossybox on social media and the past few boxes really caught my eye and for this reason I decided to give Glossybox another chance.

I’m not going to lie, I was actually really surprised with the contents of this month’s box, not sure if it’s just because it’s my first box back and I was expecting something completely different due to what my last box was like. I definitely think I will be using ALL of the products in this box.

Dr.Jart+ Shake & Shot Rubber Hydro Mask (50g)
£8.00

The first thing that caught my eye in this month’s box was this face mask. I have literally never seen a face mask in this kind of container before. I loooove colourful packaging. This face mask claims to moisturise and revitalise the skin, it also claims to target dryness, redness, fine lines and wrinkles, and to be honest, I need most of that. It comes with everything you need for the mask inside the cup so you don’t have to add anything to it yourself despite it being a DIY kind of mask. It comes with a little spatula for application and two sachets. One of the sachets is the ” Shake & Shot Rubber Mask” and the second is the ”Shake & Shot Rubber Hydro Mask”. I ventured on to YouTube and did some searching and it looks like this face mask actually peels off like rubber which is so different to any mask I have used before so I’m really excited to try it.

Mudmasky Aftermask Vitamin Serum
£43.00

This was definitely the second product to catch my eye in this month’s box. I love face creams and serums but if there is anything my skin care collection is lacking, it is definitely a decent after mask serum. This serum claims to nourish your complexion even after an intense face mask, which is definitely going to come in handy with the amount of clay masks I use. It’s also the most expensive product in this whole box, I’m not sure I would be likely to buy this again once I finish it unless it’s absolutely amazing.

Beauty Kitchen Natruline Natural 0% Petroleum Lip Treatment
£2.99

I’m quite excited to try this, especially now as my lip have been extremely dry all the time. I usually use my little Vaseline tin which looks so similar to this but since this is 100% natural and contains 0% petroleum I will be more than likely throwing out my Vaseline tin and replacing it with this. It also retails at a super affordable price so if it’s good, I will be more than likely purchase it again. The packaging for this product is also 100% recyclable which is something that I’m super fond of.

Nailberry ‘Love Me Tender’ Nail Polish
£14.50
nailberry.co.uk

I’ve been in love with this kind of nail polish shade since the start of the year. I usually use gel polishes because they last longer and I’m also too impatient to wait for the polish to dry in between coats and end up with a mess but I’m looking forward to trying this one. I have heard so many amazing things about Nailberry and their products. It claims to be a breathable polish and allows air and water to pass through it, so I assumed the smell wouldn’t be so intense but it definitely has an intense nail polish-y smell.

Barry M Cosmetics Chisel Cheeks Contour Cream Kit
£7.99
barrym.com

I don’t usually use cream contour as I tend to prefer powders for the face, I find them a lot easier to blend on top of my foundation but I’m open to give cream contour a go. Apparently the cream contour shades in this palette blend really nicely and leave a subtle contour behind once blended which is a finish I tend to prefer. I was quite impressed with the price for this palette so if this palette is good, I will likely purchase it again. I think I’ll have to master the blending first though.

And that’s all the products in this month’s Glossybox. From my understanding, some people were confused this month as not everyone got a Shake & Shot but that’s because it was a variant and others received the Annabelle Minerals Rose Blush in its place.

Overall, I’m really happy that I chose to re-subscribe this month because the contents for this box definitely impressed me and there’s so many I can’t wait to try. Glossybox have also given us a sneak peek of one of the products we can expect in June’s box. It is the Avant Pro-Perfecting Collagen Primer. I am yet to find a primer that agrees with my skin so I’m really looking forward to next month’s box already.

  1. I like the lip balm, it looks just like Vaseline but is great to have zero petroleum. I’d be intrigued to try the contouring kit too.
